Methodology

How rankings work

Every business on Calibre gets a composite score from 0–100. The score is the weighted sum of 6 base dimensions plus 2 Nigeria-specific dimensions. No business can buy a higher rank — payment is never part of the score.

Scope. Calibre lists professional businesses. Borderline categories are listed only where a statutory licence or registration applies.

The 6 base dimensions

DimensionWeightSource

Review volume16%Log-scaled by category peer max

Percentages are rounded. There is no paid-placement dimension — payment is never part of the score (algo version v2).

Nigeria-specific dimensions

These dimensions rely on Nigerian regulatory registries, so they are checked separately from review data.

What the score means

Why “no pay-to-win” matters

A ranking is only useful if the position can't be bought. Calibre doesn't sell placement of any kind — not a higher rank, not a labelled slot above the ranking, nothing. 100% of the score that determines rank is unbuyable, and there is no paid alternative to it.

When we update

There is no fixed daily or weekly re-scoring schedule published here. Every page shows its own generated and scored dates — check the date stamp on any listing or business page to see exactly how fresh its data is.
